The holiday season in Northwest Arkansas is full of traditions and fun. Local NWA residents look forward to holiday traditions that are held throughout the region every year. Here are some holiday events for you and your loved ones throughout the 2021 NWA holiday season:
1. The Lights of the Ozarks
A popular holiday tradition for Northwest Arkansas residents, The Lights of the Ozarks kicked off on November 19th at the Fayetteville Square and will come on at 5pm every night until the new year! Families and friends enjoy the different food trucks, vendors, and shops on the square while awe-ing at the gorgeous light features
2. Santa House at Lawrence Plaza
Get the kids in the Christmas spirit and visit The Santa House at Lawrence Plaza in Bentonville. Northwest Arkansas children love writing letters to Santa and sending them directly to the North Pole. For a letter back before Christmas, make sure to add a return address!
3. The Holidaze Popup Bar
This year, The Holidaze event will have two locations: Naughty and Nice. For adults 21 and older, the Naughty location will be on Block street, and for all ages, the Nice location will be at the Walton Arts Center. This year’s Holidaze event will include cocktail menus, domes, fire-pits, writing letters to Santa, and the Nog-Off. There will also be a special night to take pictures with Santa and Elf’s Workshops where children can make crafts and take them home. The Holidaze location on Block will include drinks and live music.
4. Rogers Christmas Parade
The Rogers Christmas Parade is a must for the holiday season. Enjoy the Christmas festivities with friends and family for a holiday parade on the sidewalks of Rogers. Watch Santa Claus make an appearance at the end of the parade to wish the kids a “Merry Christmas”!
5. Bentonville Christmas Parade
Family and friends can get in the Christmas spirit at the annual Bentonville Christmas Parade on December 11th. The event will be at 6pm around the Bentonville Square and down Main Street. Line the streets and watch the parade while enjoying the holiday lights on the square!
6. Christmas at Peel Museum
Enjoy the Christmas at Peel Museum event that includes food, music, theater and dance performances from various Northwest Arkansas talent. The Peel Compton Foundation and the Christmas at Peel Museum work together to connect Northwest Arkansas locals with the preservation of the public spaces that they work with. These include the Peel Museum and Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens and Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park. Anyone who is 21 years or older is welcome at this annual Christmas event!
7. The Rink at Lawrence Plaza
The Bentonville skating rink’s seasonal event opened on November 20th and will be open through February 13th for skating sessions. You can now purchase tickets online. Skating sessions are $7 per person which includes skate rental, and you can also purchase a family season membership pass for $75 and get up to 6 tickets per day.
